wedding plans

As I may have mentioned earlier, S. and I are getting married. We got engaged on our anniversary at the beginning of May on Samhainn (the beginning of the Celtic new year). We’ve set our date for the middle of January and the planning has begun! As two women we can only have a civil union in our country, but we’re calling it a wedding all the same. We’re currently faced with the challenge of planning a beautiful wedding on a minimal budget – so we’re taking on the great kiwi tradition of DIY and planning pretty much everything ourselves. The only thing we’re splashing out on is the wedding photographer. Speaking of – we’ve found an awesome one! She takes beautiful photos that really capture the spirit of the day and tell a story. And almost as importantly – she’s a real person, very lovely and very easy to talk to.

Task One: Complete

Task Two: The big one – wedding dresses!

I have to say that no matter what way you look at it, it totally is a wedding, so of course that’s what you should be calling it! Two people committing to one another for the rest of their lives is what a wedding/marriage is all about. It’s clear to me, as it should be to everyone, that your’s and S’s plans fit that description perfectly. Ahhh you’re getting married, and what a beautiful wedding it will undoubtedly be! 🙂

Nice to see you back! And what fantastic news about your engagement. I remember reading on the old blog when you and S got together. Keep us informed of wedding plans!
